Q messenger has no Android internet permission. It cannot upload your inbox, contacts, settings, or usage to TelQ.
No account, no ads, no third-party analytics SDK, no cloud inbox. We do not operate a messaging server for the app.
Your messages are stored on your device by Android and by the app's private on-device storage.
SMS and MMS are still delivered by Android and your mobile carrier, whose own privacy practices apply.
You have rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), described in Section 8.
Q messenger has no Android internet permission. It is technically unable to transmit your inbox, settings, contacts, or usage information to TelQ or any third party.
Q messenger does not require an account to send and receive messages. We do not operate a messaging backend for the app, and we do not collect, receive, sell, rent, or share personal information from the app. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics SDK.
SMS and MMS remain communications services. When you send a message, Android and your mobile carrier deliver it to the recipient. Their handling of that communication is governed by their own terms and privacy practices, not this policy.
Q messenger works with information already managed by Android or created while you use the app. This data stays on your phone:
Messages and attachments: SMS and MMS content is stored through Android's system Telephony (SMS/MMS) provider.
Conversation organization: pinned, archived, muted, blocked, and scheduled-message information is stored in the app's private on-device database.
Preferences: appearance, notification, privacy, MMS, and SIM settings are stored in the app's private on-device storage.
Search: search runs locally; search terms and results are not sent to us.
Diagnostics: the app can generate a redacted diagnostic report that excludes message text, attachments, and full phone numbers. Nothing is sent automatically; you choose whether to share it.
Because this data never leaves your device and we never receive it, TelQ does not act as a data controller for on-device content under GDPR. You remain in control of it through your device.
Android controls access to protected device features. Q messenger requests only the permissions needed for features you use.
Core messaging (used because Q messenger is your default SMS app):
SMS, MMS, and phone state: receive, display, send, and report the status of carrier messages; identify available SIMs; and act as Android's default SMS application.
Notifications: show incoming messages and support reply and mark-as-read actions.
Alarms and startup: send scheduled messages and restore pending schedules after a restart. Android may allow exact or best-effort timing depending on system access.
Optional, just-in-time features (requested only when you use them):
Contacts: show contact names and photos and help you choose recipients.
Microphone: record a voice note, only while you are recording.
Location: create a one-time static location link when you choose to share it. Q messenger does not track your location.
Camera and media selection: attach a photo or video using Android's protected system pickers.
You can review or revoke optional permissions in Android settings at any time. Revoking a permission disables only the related feature.
We use SMS and Call/Phone permissions solely to deliver the app's core messaging functionality, in line with Google Play's requirements for default SMS handlers. We never use SMS or MMS content or metadata for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the messaging features you use.
Q messenger sends standard SMS and MMS. Android hands outgoing communications to your device's telephony and platform MMS services. Your mobile carrier, the recipient's carrier, and the recipient's device or messaging provider may process or retain those messages.
MMS transfer may require mobile data even though the app has no internet permission. Carrier charges, roaming fees, size limits, filtering, and retention rules may apply. Q messenger does not control those services.
Your messages remain in Android's system message storage until you delete them or another default SMS app changes that storage. App-only settings and metadata remain until you delete them, clear Q messenger's app storage, or uninstall the app.
Q messenger disables Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer for its private app data. Deleting a conversation removes the local copy from your phone; it does not remove copies already delivered to recipients or retained by carriers.
Because Q messenger sends us no data and we operate no account or server for it, TelQ does not hold personal data about your use of the app. As a result there is normally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our side — your data stays under your control on your device.
You nonetheless have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object toprocessing, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you believe we hold personal data about you, contact [email protected] and we will respond within the timeframes required by law (generally within one month).

You may also complain to the supervisory authority in your country of residence or work.
Automated decision-making. We do not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.
Q messenger is not directed to children. Where a minimum age of consent for data processing applies, it is 16 years in Germany under GDPR Article 8 (a higher local minimum may apply where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
Permissions: grant or revoke optional Android permissions in system settings at any time.
Deletion: delete conversations and app data on-device, or uninstall the app.
Consistent with Google Play's Data Safety and permissions requirements, the app functions as a default SMS handler and uses SMS/MMS and phone permissions only for core messaging. This data is not used for advertising or any unapproved purpose, is not shared with third parties, and is not transmitted to TelQ. Our Google Play Data Safety declaration reflects that the app collects no data on our behalf.
We may update this policy when Q messenger's behaviour, permissions, features, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page and, where appropriate, in the app or the official release listing.
